• How will I know that I will receive a quality translation from Apex? How do I choose the translation service that provides us with the best value?

  Apex assures the quality of our translations by applying proven quality assurance and quality control procedures, as well as stringent project management principles. Check out our Quality Manual for more detailed information regarding our quality procedures, or the results of our most recent quality survey that reflects what our clients think about our quality.

  Additionally, we provide FREE sample translations of your text before you place an order, provided your source text contains at least 3,000 words. This sample translation, typically 150 source words in length, will give you a perspective of our translation quality and style. Sample text translations are typically completed within 24 hours.

• Our documents have special formatting and contain tables, text boxes, footnotes, etc. Will you be able to maintain the formatting and style of the documents we need translated?

  Yes. Our translators translate directly into the source document; and, in most cases, we are able to maintain the formatting and style of your document. This includes any tables, text boxes, footnotes, etc., that may exist in your document. We can also translate directly into spreadsheets, presentation documents, and, of course, into virtually any available word processing applications.

• The document word count that we established is different than the word count you provided. Why is that?

  Counting words in a document can be a complicated process. Any time there are reasons to believe that there may be an issue with our word count, we will double-check the word count that we provided to you. Please download our White Paper for more information. It explains in detail the intricacies involved in establishing word counts and the approach that we have chosen to take.

• We are concerned about the confidentiality of the document we need translated. How can you assure us that the document will remain secure while in your hands?

  We understand the importance of proprietary information being treated as CONFIDENTIAL. If requested, Apex will sign a non-disclosure agreement in order to assure the confidentiality of the document to be translated. All documents are stored in a secure environment and no proprietary information is ever released to any person or entity that is not bound by our non-disclosure agreement. If requested, Apex will establish a username and password-protected ftp account to exchange documents.

• I need my document translated quickly. Can you help me?

  Yes. Apex has the resources to respond to urgent requests. Typical turnaround time for a 2000-word document is 24 hours or less.

• Will you be using more than one translator to translate my document?

  We typically only use one translator per source language to ensure consistency of style and terminology. However, if the document size and turnaround time require more than one translator, special measures are taken to use common glossaries, common databases, as well as the expertise of a translation coordinator, all to ensure consistency of the document.

• Can you assure me that the document you are returning to me will be free of viruses?

  All incoming and outgoing emails and documents are scanned with anti-virus software, which is updated daily with new virus definitions. To further protect against computer problems, our back-up system maintains a duplicate of all documents that we receive and send to our clients, including completed translations.

• Do you use translation software similar to the type available on the Internet?

  No, we do not subscribe to Machine Translation (MT) software that is often found on the Internet or sold as software packages. For documents that require detailed, accurate translations, current machine translation software is clearly insufficient.
